"The World Wisdom Gathering was a profound experience for me. There were people from various corners of the world including Canada, Thailand, North and South America, Europe and Africa offering their insights, music, big hearts and hugs. Native American elders, a Dominican nun who holds Peace at the United Nations, children of various ethic cultures and more shared food, song, stories and fun. One of the more magical aspects of the event was a ceremony to the Ancestors on the banks of the Mississippi under the full moon. The Gathering culminated in a one-day Dance to Heal the Earth, a powerful day of fasting and prayer under a grandmother tree. My sense is that many beings on many dimensions celebrated the healing energies of this Wisdom Gathering and Dance. Thank you to the World Council for Wisdom Gatherings for organizing it!" ~ Mare Cromwell, Author, Great Mother Bible
Arriving at my first World Wisdom Gathering was wonderful, feeling like I returned home. Most were strangers yet all brothers and sisters. We came seeking knowledge, sharing wisdom, giving unconditionally to one another. All shared with an open heart and respect for all mankind as well all living things. As the days progressed, strangers became friends helping one another to keep the Sacred Community Fire lit throughout the entire event, as well other tasks that needed to be tended to, share a laugh as well a tear. Each day had a theme. From North America, South America, Europe and Africa, Elders shared their Ancestral wisdom, taught us ceremonies and songs. The barriers so often felt by many, be it race, creed etc. were nonexistent as we listened and learned what each of us can do, individually and collectively, in order to make this world as it should be. This was my first experience, I have already begun planning for my next one with plans to meet more brothers and sisters, while greeting those already met.

I'm really glad I was here for everything that came along with this experience. World Wisdom Council, thank you for putting this together. I won't forget any of you (or this experience, especially "fire watcher" 3 late night's in a row! Speaking on my behalf, I really needed this time here (and now I can say that I've been to Illinois. I'm gonna do my best to swing it so I can make it again next year. ~ Kris Chynoweth
I was very fortunate to attend the 2016 World Wisdom in Nauvoo, IL. I was surrounded by elders and Wisdom keepers from different nations around the world who held a beautiful space for learning, sharing, and healing. The experience peaked when I joined the "Dance to Heal the Earth" which gave me a final chance to connect with Mother Earth through drumming and dance. As a student/ apprentice of two of the 7 Generations World Wisdom Council I am left awe struck by the experience which, as most amazing things in life, must be experienced to be understood.

Not even in dreams I could have imagined myself learning from so many Wisdom Keepers and people coming from different parts of the world, all doing wonderful things for other people, for Mother Earth. Every moment was precious. From the workshops, to listening to stories at the fire, helping in the kitchen or doing my laundry, everything became a space for gathering, for learning. Gratitude for all who made it possible and respect for the strenght of those who have kept and shared with humbleness the powerful messages of the ancient traditions. I really enjoyed myself. ~ Paloma Encarnación Metka
